FERMA INNOVA CONTRIBUTES TO SUSTAINABLE DEVELOPMENT

The conference, which takes place this Friday, focuses on companies and the challenge of the SDGs and will recognise the role of nursing homes.

BARBASTRO.- "The Chusepa bee discovers Barbastro's pantry" and sneaks inside to taste Somontano products thanks to Rita Piedrafita, author of the story with illustrations by Abraham Martínez, published as part of a municipal initiative in Gráficas Barbastro, which will be presented this Thursday (6 p.m.) in the Espacio Gutenberg in anticipation of Ferma Innova, which will be held this Friday, focused on "Companies and the challenge of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)". Belinda Pallás, President of the municipal Development Area and promoter of the event, referred to the activities at a press conference with Fernando Torres, the Mayor, and Carmen Fernández, President of the Association of Women Entrepreneurs of the Province of Huesca, which is also collaborating.

After the official opening, at 10:30 am, Javier García Antón, Director of DIARIO DEL ALTOARAGÓN, will lead the panel on experiences of "Successful Models of Corporate Social Responsibility at the local, regional and national levels"; topic of debate for Antonio Javierre, CEO of Javierre S.L. and President of the Scientific Committee of the International Congress of Social Responsibility. The round table will include Nita Macía, Director of Strategy & Responsibility, Director of the Sustainable Tourism Cluster of Aragón and the International Congress of Social Responsibility; María Sanjuán, Creative Specialist at Gráficas Barbastro; David González, Business Director at Novapet S.A.; and José Antonio Rodríguez, Business Director at Brilen Tech S.A.

"The SDGs, challenges and opportunities for companies" will be the topic of the discussion, at 12:30 p.m., between Clara Arpa, President of the Spanish Global Compact Network, member of the Executive Committee of the Global Compact and CEO of Arpa Equipos, and David Lafuente, from Barbastro, CSR expert and Deputy Director of Internal and External Youth Cooperation (Injuve).

In the evening, at 5 p.m., Barbastro's Strategic Plan for Local Development 2020-2024 (Horizon 2030) will be presented, carried out at the initiative of the City Council with the support of the Aragón Open Governance Laboratory. The talk, at 5:30 p.m., on “Older people are more sustainable. Let's learn from them” will be run by the sociologist Víctor Viñuales, Executive Director of the Ecodes Ecology and Development Foundation.

The councillor María Victoria Broto will attend the closing ceremony, as the Ferma Trophy will go to four nursing homes in Barbastro "for their exemplary work during the pandemic".
